Exposure Testing

There's no substitute for real world data.

Outdoor Weathering Exposure Testing

We have an extensive exterior durability testing program to assure the quality of our warranted products such as TRINAR®.

We utilize exposure sites around the world, many in cooperation with our other coil coatings operations. While the standard exposure conditions for the coil coating industry are 45° south, open-rack, we also utilize many other configurations to accelerate the exterior durability results. These include Black Box, Backed Panel, and Fresnel-type exposure.

Chalk and fade characteristics are evaluated on a yearly basis, and the results are collected and stored in a relational database for optimal evaluation of the data.

This all means that we are constantly evaluating our products to make sure that we are capturing all meaningful data relating to the way they hold up to the elements.

Corrosion Testing

We also spend a lot of time doing research and testing in regards to corrosion, and how it affects the paint surface. We are constantly working on developing and testing new types of primers and top coats which are more resistant to the effects of corrosion. While only so much can be done to prevent corrosion with paint technology, it's still extremely important to try and seal out the elements that are responsible for causing corrosion.

There is a difference in primer and top coat technologies, and for your products to stand up over time and maintain their appearance, you need to have a solid performing paint system that you can trust. This is why we spend a lot of time on corrosion testing, and why with our products you know you're getting a system that is tested as thoroughly as possible.
