Building - we serve producers of cement-, and gypsum-based mortars to create products with the right workability, consistency and adhesion properties.
Food - we offers the most comprehensive range of cellulose gums in the world. Cellulose gum is an additive that is approved for use in any kind of processed food formulations, with a wide range of applications.
Health care – with anionic water-soluble polymers we provide unique rheology solutions for the personal care and health care industry. Our products can be used in a variety of formulations like:
- Oral care: toothpaste, denture adhesives and mouth water
- Wound care: plasters, wound gels
- Skin care: make-up products, sunscreens, moisturizing serums, body lotions
- Hair care: shampoos, gels, hair conditioners
Mining - AkzoNobel is at the forefront of advanced colloid and surface chemistry. We therefore have been able to develop a range of chemicals for upgrading ores and concentrates in mining operations.

Paint - Our products are used by manufacturers of water-borne paints all over the world. Bermocoll is a nonionic cellulose derivatives available in a wide range of viscosities, as standard and hydrophobically modified grades. Bermodol products are polyurethane based associative thickeners.
