We take our obligations to the planet very seriously. We recognize the consequences of climate change as a business reality and as an important management issue for our company. So we’ve been reducing our carbon footprint, cutting waste and conserving valuable natural resources. And we’ll continue to find new ways to do this.

Materials efficiency

As raw materials become increasingly scarce, it’s up to all of us to make sure they’re used efficiently. We believe that making the most of raw materials in our manufacturing processes includes effectively managing the waste produced. This not only reduces our environmental footprint, but also cuts our costs. 

Energy & Climate

Climate change has become a major concern for world governments and industry. To fight this global threat, we monitor, measure and study our CO2 emissions. And then we do whatever we can to reduce them.

Water

Industry today consumes over a fifth of the world’s fresh water. But it doesn’t have to be that way. For us, that means looking at ways of reducing our burden on fresh water supplies in regions where fresh water is scarce.

Land

Over time, some of the sites we’ve owned have become contaminated as a result of manufacturing processes. Our aim is to clean up all our historically contaminated sites and make them safe for future use.

Air

We’re doing everything we can to improve the quality of the air around our plants. That means reducing and controlling the emissions caused by our industrial manufacturing processes.

Mission Antarctica

We recently sent 12 employees to Antarctica as part of our Leadership on the Edge program. Having seen the dramatic effects of climate change firsthand, these people are fired up to make a difference. They’ll be using what they’ve learnt from the adventure to help us further improve our sustainability efforts and reduce our impact on the planet.
