Plan India - boy at blackboard

Help girls and boys enroll in a vocational training program!

As the largest paints and coatings company globally, as well as being a major producer of specialty chemicals, we translate our social responsibility into action by investing in the talents of children and youth worldwide. By tapping into their potential we can empower new generations to secure livelihoods and be all they can be, increasing the social and economic inclusion of poorer, marginalized areas of society. We’re well aware that this is an important step toward breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a more balanced global environment.

In AkzoNobel’s Talent Factory, a number of management training programs are in place to further develop our people’s talents. As part of this philosophy, it’s been decided to spend the proceeds of our anniversary action on vocational training projects for disadvantaged youth in Brazil, India and Vietnam.

In Brazil the program focuses mainly on girls, aimed at reducing their vulnerability brought about by tourism and facilitating safe, promising employment. The program in India is directed at increasing the awareness of the importance of girl’s empowerment as well as preparing young adolescents for safe and decent employment. The Vietnam program bridges the gap between the demand for skilled, professional employees and the extensive supply of semi-skilled youth.

When transferring the proceeds of your fundraising action or making a donation you can indicate your preference for one of these projects.
