Paper and Board
Bulk and stiffness. These are just two words that come to you when discussing why you should test Expancel. It's used in board primarily to make it bulkier, thicker. This can, for example, help the customer save raw material or improve bending stiffness of the board at a given basis weight.
Among other areas bulky board is used to produce coffee cups, where thermal insulation is important. Adding Expancel SL in the wet-end of the board machine can also improve the production capacity. Coated on the surface of paper and board, it can give anything from a soft touch to significant anti-slip properties.
