Lesson one: The different forms

Expancel® Microspheres can be bought in different forms:

WU = Wet Unexpanded
WE = Wet Expanded
DU = Dry Unexpanded
DE = Dry Expanded
MB = Masterbatch 65 % DU in EVA
SL = Slurry 40 %

Did you also know that:

• 1 g Expancel may contain as many as 15 billion microspheres.

• 1 kg Expancel DE with a density of 30 kg/m³ gives a volume of 34 liter.

Expancel® Microspheres:

• can be used as a matting agent
• can create inner pressure
• have closed cells

• make products easy to work, cut, drill, polish, etc.
