Fire fighting principle

  • If possible, remove or control source of metalorganic
  • Control oxygen flow to the metalorganic (for controlled burning)

Suitable extinguishers

  • Vermiculite
  • Fire blanket (small fires)
  • Dry chemical powder

Do not use

  • Water or foam extinguishers
  • Carbon dioxide extinguishers
  • Halogenated hydrocarbons (Halon type) extinguishers (prohibited in EU)
