On-line customer applications
Typically, our major customers interact with AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals via automated on-line applications, e.g., for ordering, detailed product information retrieval including safety data sheets (SDS), and current order status. This leads to cost savings as well as quality improvements.

Order Entry, Order Status
All our customer are offered an on-line customer account for this website. Login to the Restricted Area, and the order entry screen is immediately available. Orders are directly entered into our SAP order system. Using the Order Status screen, the customer has direct access to current order status information of all his orders, past and present.
The system also includes methods to directly communicate with our Customer Services Desk contact for any additional questions.
ERP-ERP, Order Data Exchange, Telemetrics and Other information systems
Full integration can be achieved by establishing a direct ERP-ERP data exchange for planning, orders and invoicing. The ERP system of the customer is directly connected to our SAP order system.
The customer stock management can be further improved by Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), where the customer storage tank(s) is connected via telemetrics to our SAP system. Based on detailed logistical agreement between customers and up to date information from the telemetrics, the order entry procedure is fully automated, leading to logistical optimization for both the customer and the supplier.
Telemetrics

Based on telemetrics we have developed a system that will allow you to contract your stock control out to us. Independent of your own production level, your stocks will always be optimal according to your own standards.Overall, the telemetrics provides detailed information for improving the supply chain by good stock keeping, reduction of logistical costs, and simplification of the customer-supplier interactions.
Dedicated transport
This means that a dedicated tanker will only contain one specific product for one specific market segment. E.g., we now have dedicated caustic soda tankers for the drinking water segment and for the food industry. Dedicated transport is also in use for hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, chlorine, ferric chloride, and dimethyl ether.
Courses and Training
'Care' and 'safe' are keywords in working with chemicals. And since we care for our products even in the domain of our customers, we provide courses and training for handling.
What are the characteristics of our products; how do they react with other chemicals; what is their impact on materials; are they hazardous; what are the safety measures; can they have an impact on environment; how do I store them? All these issues will be dealt with by our department Technical Support in tailor-made programs.
Aerosol Safety and Application Laboratory
AkzoNobel facilitates an Aerosol Safety and Application Laboratory (ASAL). This laboratory is equipped with modern facilities and computerized models in compliance with international test standards.
Many years of experience working with dimethyl ether in aerosol applications and with safety related aerosol items make AkzoNobel a reliable and dedicated partner for the development of safer aerosol products.
The on-line customer applications include several other information systems, e.g., the product information knowledgebase, organized as a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) system; the customer complaints module, where you can react on-line with remarks about product deliveries and where you can see the current status of your complaint.
