Cradle to gate

We calculate our carbon footprint* from cradle to gate, focusing on the areas in which we can influence improvements. This covers the purchasing of raw materials, our production and the transport to customers.

• We calculate how much CO2 is emitted during the production of a specific product,  

• We add the CO2 footprint of our raw materials to the calculation.

Because of the ongoing nature of the measuring process, we will be able to provide customers and stakeholders with more accurate information about the levels of emissions from cradle to gate. The customers then only have to add their own emission levels to be able to calculate their own cradle to gate carbon footprint. This will cascade through the total life cycle of a product.

* Carbon footprint is the global warming potential (measured as equivalent tonnes of CO2) of the main greenhouse gases identified in the Kyoto Protocol.
