Raw Materials

 

Through our Product Stewardship programme we systematically review raw materials in existing products. This may result in reformulation or, in some cases, the removal of certain products from our current range.

During the last 20 years we have made significant progress in identifying and removing a number of potentially more harmful substances from our products. Most significantly (and in accordance with the IMO Convention on the Control of Harmful Antifouling Systems on Ships), International Paint was the first major supplier to formally announce that we would be ceasing the production of TBT containing antifoulings, and the first to totally withdraw from the supply of coatings containing coal tar.

Feedback from customers and applicators is particularly important. Information received is continually reviewed and closely linked to our product development process.
