April 11, 2007
Ablestik Laboratories was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success.
The company was recognised for its efforts in supplying Intel with die attach paste adhesives. Ablestik and 43 additional PQS award winners were honoured at a recent celebration in Burlingame, California.
Ablestik is a business unit of National Starch and Chemical Company, a member of the ICI Group.
“We are proud to receive this prestigious supplier award from Intel,” said Jeff Gausepohl, Ablestik general manager. “Ablestik has endeavoured to improve continuously in the key areas of quality, delivery, technology development, and responsiveness while providing value to our customers.
Today, Ablestik’s quality systems closely resemble Intel’s, because of Intel’s leadership in setting supplier goals and providing supplier development support.”
“Congratulations to Ablestik Laboratories for earning the PQS award in 2006 for their flawless execution to quality initiatives and enabling of film die attach materials,” said Jeff Selvala, director, Assembly Test Global Materials, Intel Corporation. “Ablestik’s alignment with Intel’s technology roadmap and material development activities are important to our success.”
The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 per cent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment.
