Zweden: Royal Institute for Engineering Sciences (IVA)
Established in 1919, IVA is the oldest engineering academy in the world and it is comprised of approximately 1000 members, including 250 non-Swedes.
IVA’s mission is to create an independent arena for the exchange of knowledge between distinguished engineers and economists from business and industry, education and public administration.
The Academy promotes collaboration between these groups by initiating interaction between experts from different disciplines and countries. These interactions take the form of lectures, conferences, research exchanges and other projects.
The Academy also showcases and rewards achievements in the natural sciences, engineering and economics.
