The resources we need to be greener
We’re constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. Not just in our day-to-day operations, but also in the decisions we make about future investments.
One example is our project to Demonstrate and Assess New Tools for Environmental Sustainability (DANTES). This program gathers and describes tools for environmental assessment. It also demonstrates how and when to use these different tools within our industry.
Another example is REACH (or the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals). This came into effect on 1st June 2007 to help protect human health and the environment. REACH involves testing and risk assessment for the majority of chemicals produced in the European Community. We’re committed to making REACH work within AkzoNobel.
