ICI Pakistan Volunteer Program Launch

In 2009 we formally launched our first ever volunteer program. The idea behind this program is sustainable involvement. We want to get our people actively involved in giving to our communities as this helps to build goodwill and empathy, and brings in the important aspect of human interaction which everyone needs, particularly those in disadvantaged positions.

The first project of the Program was participation in the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital’s celebration of International Reading Week. Our volunteers spent time in the children’s ward, interacting with young patients. They spent time reading stories and handing out toys and small treats to the children. The event was a great success and volunteers were enthusiastic for more.

This was the first of many more volunteering initiatives to come
