Inauguration of model village in Munda Headworks
ICI Pakistan Foundation is proud to announce that we have completed our first Flood Rehabilitation project in Munda Headworks, Khyber Pakhtoon Khuwa. The village was inaugurated on April 18th 2011 and 13 houses were built through flood relief contributions received from ICI Pakistan Limited employees. These houses were handed over to the families of Munda Headworks who were left homeless in the devastating floods last year.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of ICI Pakistan, and Karachi Relief Trust, with whom we partnered on this project. Volunteers from ICI's Life Sciences and Paints Businesses, and KRT actively participated in painting doors and windows of these houses and visited families to resolve community health and hygiene matters. ICI Pakistan Foundation has also installed swing sets for children around the village and in the future plans to help these families built a self-sustaining livelihood.
