Education at Tibbi Harya

Lighting the way with knowledge

Working for the betterment of the societies in which we operate is one thing that has been a constant with ICI over the decades that we have been in business. The small village of Tibbi Harya, located adjacent to our Polyester Fibres Plant in Sheikhupura, is one focus of our attention in this respect.

From 2002, in collaboration with an NGO named Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aghai, we have improved the condition of the community school and the school is now able to provide transport to its teachers, a clean learning environment for its students, cold drinking water from a water chiller and a newly painted school premises for both. Our management staff has even started an “Adopt a School” scheme as of 2003 which supports the school’s deserving students through the provision of their school fees and uniforms. As a result of the renovation of the school and induction of qualified teachers, the number of enrolments has increased from 42 to 109. In addition, in order to provide better quality water to the residents of the area we have also improved the depth of the local water source.
