Initiators for LDPE/EVA

AkzoNobel provides a comprehensive range of organic peroxide initiators suitable for the production of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA). We offer all standard peroxide types for both autoclave and tubular technologies.

Peroxide activity

The most important criterion for initiator selection is activity, expressed by initiator half-life. The half-life is the time required to reduce the original initiator content at a given temperature by 50%.

• Highly active peroxides for LDPE have a one hour half-life temperature below 100°C
• Medium active peroxides have a one hour half-life temperature in the range of 100-130°C
• Low active peroxides have a one hour half-life temperature above 130°C
