We offer a range of organic peroxides for the crosslinking of LDPE-based cable compounds (XLPE, PEX, VPE).

Preferred crosslinking peroxides

Product properties of LDPE such as impact, abrasion, stress crack and chemical strength as well as dielectrical strength greatly improve upon organic peroxide crosslinking.

Key criteria for selecting the right crosslinking peroxide include:

  • Safety during transport, storage and handling
  • High thermal stability to resist processing temperature of LDPE
  • Low addition level for getting the best result (high peroxide crosslink efficiency needed)
  • Suitable free radicals generated for crosslinking
  • Decomposition products should not have a negative impact on cable properties

Preferred organic peroxides are:
  • Dicumyl peroxide (Perkadox BC)
  • tert-Butyl cumyl peroxide (Trigonox T)
  • Di(tert-butylperoxyisopropyl)benzene (Perkadox 14)

Please contact us to discuss your particular requirements. We can also assist you in switching from 'ready-made' to 'self-made' cable compounds.

Ketjenblack EC electroconductive carbon blacks

Our superconductive carbon blacks are of the highest purity. Due to their unique morphology, substantially lower amounts of Ketjenblack EC are required to make elastomers electroconductive when compared to conventional carbon blacks. This results in improved processing and mechanical properties of the end product.

Their very low ash, metal and grid content, in combination with the low addition levels needed makes Ketjenblack EC the product of choice for semiconductive applications such as medium and high voltage cables.
