The Hengelo manufacturing operation started as KNZ (NV Koninklijke Nederlandse Zoutindustrie), which began salt production in 1918. The Salt facilities run the drilling and brine production, salt production, and salt packing. Hengelo's Salt packing facility is the largest and most advanced of its kind in the world. Extensive automation and a unique process ensure constant, high product quality and the flexibility to respond to market needs. |

The Mariager plant is located in central Denmark and is one of the most modern salt production plants in the world. It has received constant investment to become the "world class" and fully automated facility it is today. The main factory was built in 1966 and was expanded with a brand new, state of the art pharmaceutical salt production and packing facility in 2003. The factory in Mariager is set up to be similar to the site in Hengelo although on a smaller scale. This production site in Mariager also includes a sales office which covers Denmark, Finland, the Baltic States and Russia. | |  |

In Sweden, Salt Specialties incorporates warehouses in Gothenburg, Arhus and Stockholm. The plant in Gothenburg is equipped with a packaging line. The product portfolio consists of vacuum salt, rock salt, sea salt and calcium chloride. |
