Venezuelan meatloaf

Cooking time: 70 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 70 gr bread crumbs soaked in milk
  • 500 gr minced beef
  • 1 chopped peeled tomato  
  • 1 finely copped onion
  • 15 gr chopped parsley
  • 30 gr grated cheese
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 5 gr salt flakes (JOZO® Flakes)
  • Pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 50 gr flour

Sauce:

  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 100 ml oil
  • 2 chopped peeled tomatoes  
  • 15 gr chopped mixed herbs
  • 60 ml beef stock

Preparation:

Push the soaked bread crumbs through a sieve until dry. Mix the minced beef, the bread crumbs, parsley, grated cheese, eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg well together. Form the mixture into a loaf shape, sprinkle some flour on it and put to the side. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the chopped onion until softened. Add the tomatoes, herbs and stock and leave to boil softly for 5 minutes. Add the meatloaf to the sauce, put a lid on the pan and simmer for 1 hour. Serve the meatloaf in sliced with sauce on top.
