Bertil Moraal
Project Accountant
“After completing my study, I worked as an assistant accountant in various organizations. Within AkzoNobel T&E I'm responsible for accounting and controlling in major capital projects. When I came for the interview, it clicked straight away. I've got a good manager, who’s also my coach and great colleagues. It's clear what is expected of me – I have the right tools, and I feel appreciated. My role here is broader than in previous jobs, as I’m involved in a lot of different areas of work. Basically, I'm a sidekick to the project manager and feel very much part of the team. Within the department, everyone has their own area of responsibility, which makes it a very talented and flexible group of people. The working environment is literally transparent: there's a lot of glass, people are very helpful, and doors are always open. So I tend not to use the phone so much – I just drop in to discuss issues as they arise. This is definitely a fun and challenging place to work.”
