“I was originally hired by AkzoNobel to work on the multi-business DANTES project, which the EU funded in order to demonstrate and assess new tools for environmental sustainability. This was a great way to get to know the company and for them to get to know me. Since then, our Sustainability Group has grown substantially and the work keeps flowing in. Right now I'm responsible for managing a follow-up EU project called TOSCA, which is assessing sustainability tools and communication throughout the value chain. In many ways we’re in tune with the times, as sustainability is becoming an increasingly important criterion in corporate decision-making. AkzoNobel is driven by sustainability and so are many of our third-party customers. So why did I choose to work for T&E? My primary consideration was to be able to work on issues that I'm passionate about every day. In many ways, my job is like having my own business – and not just any business, but one that's dedicated to creating a more sustainable planet.”
