What is at stake?
There is severe pressure on chemicals manufacturers to register their products under the EU’s REACH regulations. This stringent legislation affects many AkzoNobel Business Units. The main requirement is in Europe, but the legislation also affects plants around the world that export to the EU. Without REACH registration, products may not be manufactured in or imported into Europe.

What we do
We combine our deep insight into biodegradability, toxicology, ecotoxicology and exposure with state-of-the-art testing facilities  in order to register chemicals according to the REACH criteria.

Added value
We combine our technical expertise with intimate knowledge of customers' substances. Our clients include numerous AkzoNobel Business Units, such as EKA, Polymer, Functional, Surface and Industrial Chemicals as well as external clients.

Facts & Figures
In the first tier of REACH we will assist in registering 96 substances, for 36 of which AkzoNobel will be the lead registrant company. For tiers 2 and 3 the number of substances registered will grow well into the hundreds.
