Eco-efficiency

Striking the balance between cost and environmental impact

Much of our revenue comes from innovative products – but it’s just as important that they score well in terms of eco-efficiency. Question is, how do you measure this?

At AkzoNobel we’re committed to eco-efficiency in all our major business decisions, product innovations and marketing strategies. That means making sure our products profitable as well as eco-efficient.

Measuring eco-efficiency
To do this we use an eco-efficiency analysis (EEA). The aim is to show whether one product, activity or process is more eco-efficient than another. We also apply EEA to other areas, including management, strategy, R&D and marketing.

According to a recent inventory, 18 percent of our revenue comes from products that have been proven more eco-efficient than their mainstream competitors.

We aim to keep increasing this number in years to come.
