Wood Finishes China
AkzoNobel is the leading coatings supplier to the Asian wood industry. Initially establishing operations in Singapore in 1991 to support U.S. companies relocating to the region, AkzoNobel’s Wood Finishes and Adhesives Business Unit expanded its regional presence between 2001 and 2003 with three new plants in Dongguan, Jiashan and Tianjin, China to support rapid industry growth. All three plants operate in an environmentally-responsible manner, featuring fully-sealed mixing tanks, a central collection system of exhaust gas, an automatic tank washer and other eco-friendly process enhancements.
Dongguan plant 东莞工厂
The Dongguan plant was built in 2001 and employs 380 people today. In addition to supplying the domestic manufacturers, the Dongguan plant also exports products to Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Bangladesh. A new research and development laboratory is under construction at the Dongguan plant and is expected to be completed in 2012. This lab will provide additional resources to enhance our work in developing eco-friendly products for wood.
Tianjin plant 天津工厂
The Tianjin plant was built in 2004 and employs 320 people today. This site manufactures wood finishes and wood adhesives, and coatings for other applications to metal and plastic. In addition to supplying the domestic manufacturers, the Tianjin plant also exports products to India, Thailand and Taiwan.
Jiaxing plant 嘉兴工厂
Akzo Nobel Coatings (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd was built in 2004 and has over 400 employees now, specializing in manufacturing industrial wood coatings, specialty plastics, extrusion and coil coatings.
