Adding colour to the lives of Children with learning disabilities

Early March, we added color to the lives of children at the ‘Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disability’ in Muscat, Oman. This was a Community Program under the umbrella of our Human Cities initiative.

“At AkzoNobel, we believe that children are our future. Supporting and nurturing young minds and assisting them can transform their lives for the better.” said Jeremy Rowe, Managing Director for Decorative Paints in South East, South Asia, Middle East (SESAME) region.

One of the children at the Centre expressed her happiness with the donations, saying: “With all the new art materials at the Centre, I now look forward to coming here every morning and making new paintings.”

Launched in 2014, our global Human Cities initiative aims to help the world’s cities deliver a stronger sense of community purpose, pride and happiness.

We regularly organize community-oriented campaigns in the region. The employees take part in various initiatives such as the recent blood donation drive organized in Dubai.

As part of the first Human Cities project in the region, renovated the Secondary Section of The National Charity School in Gharhoud, Dubai. In addition to painting the Secondary Section with bright Dulux colors that delighted the students, we also added new facilities to create a more inspiring learning environment.
