AkzoNobel Specialty Coatings –has an outstanding opportunity for a Key Account Manager in the Consumer Electronics division. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing OEM relationships of assigned customer accounts, IT Wireless. Identify new program opportunities from OEM and coordinate activities within the organization to secure business. Focus on new business development and troubleshooting problems within key markets.
This position can be located in Houston or Austin, Texas.
Specific Tasks:
- Focus on Assigned OEM customer and work with local teams to gain share at each
- Assess requirements of OEM/Tiers and coordinate AkzoNobel resources accordingly
- Present the various AkzoNobel technologies and coordinate efforts to gain product approvals
- Develop a strong technical understanding of new and existing product lines
- Demonstrate technical selling ability to explain unique technologies to prospective customers
- Assist tier suppliers with part approval process
- Develop a thorough understanding of the market and value chain
- Translate information into business strategic and tactical goals and objectives
- Coordinate account sales activities by targeting, developing and monitoring sales function and performance
- Meet personal sales targets as established, incorporating the full range of products/services within identified markets or geography
- Typical accounts will be high challenge, high complexity, diverse customers that require ongoing client relationship support
- Regularly calls on assigned existing and potential customers to maintain close contact with the marketplace
- Cascades information to designated customers on features and benefits of available products/services
- Identifies and follows up on significant business opportunities, pinpoints existing and/or potential problems and arranges for resolution
- Delivers periodical business reviews and actively participates in development of business growth and sales support plans for designated customers
- Independently prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions
- Provide global support to customers in the United States and Asia
- Travel to OEM customers on a regular basis to manage new and existing programs throughout the product life cycle
- Seek growth opportunities through new business
- Travel required throughout territory, typically upwards of 50% with some overnight and international travel

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor degree or additional relevant work experience will be considered
- Minimum of 5 years Coatings experience in Sales, Account Management or Project Management
- Experience in coatings for plastics
- Bi-lingual in Mandarin a plus
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral
- Knowledge of CRM, SAP and MS Office, especially Excel
- Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Ability to upwards of 50% of time and work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
