Responsibility

AkzoNobel Protective Coatings is looking for a Sales Representative. The candidate will be a frontline sales person responsible for the execution of agreed sales and profitability targets established by the business within the assigned sales area by acquiring new business and maintaining existing customers.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage a portfolio of customers to execute sales plan.

- Systematically screen customer base for new opportunities, generate leads and maintain pipeline.

- Identify, plan and develop new customers in line with business development plans/targets.

- Provide appropriate and agreed levels of contact, service and support to ensure sales targets are met.

- Collect, report and analyze the customer feedback / information on present as well as future market trends.

- Plan, execute and report on the sales activities in the assigned sales area.

- Identify business opportunities, pinpoint and try to resolve existing and/or potential problems and requests support from the upper management.

- Deliver periodical progress reports and proactively submits recommendations regarding improvements.

- Cooperate with the other departments in the implementation of approved service solutions.

- Systematically up-dates CRM with valid, accurate and complete customer-related information.

- Cooperate with Technical Representative in educating customers on technical requirements of available product lines, IT support tools and non-paint assortment.

- Monitor and report on the status of formal customer complaint procedure handling.

- Become familiar with all applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all regulations.

**The position is home based and the candidate should be located in Orange County California.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience
- Protective coatings industry experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience in Coatings industry is a plus
- NACE certification strongly preferred
- Ability to travel over 50% of time
- Solid communications skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong negotiations skills
- Self-starter
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Time Management skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
