Responsibility

Key Activities and responsibilities
  
- The Continuous Improvement Manager Finance is part of a CIM team (7 employees) being responsible to improve and implement standard finance processes.
- The CIM has knowledge of change management processes and experience in fit/gap analysis.
- For new process introduction the CIM coordinates assessment the readiness and improvement opportunities
- The CIM works closely together with other functions like Sales, Marketing, ISC, Purchasing, HR, IM and has a broad knowledge and understanding of the business processes.
- Active interaction with the Reporting Units for financial processes
- Manage the functional design of SAP-FICO / SAP-BW as process-owner by:- Participate in the Finance Process Governance Board overseeing all new initiatives for changes in the Atlas design
- Review all change requests impacting the Atlas design with respect to the SAP-FICO module and other modules integrated with FICO
- Approver of all changes in the financial master data (profit centers, GL accounts etc.)
- Participate in projects in order to safeguard the original design of Atlas system with respect to financial processes

- Embed the Atlas design in the accounting and controlling organization by:- Identification of training needs by measuring major gaps between Atlas design and actual practice
- Setting-up a training plan to improve the in-depth knowledge of Atlas/SAP-BW system
- Development of standardized training modules for new key-users and end-users

- Manage SCOA compliancy by:- Being responsible for all changes in the set-up of SCOA in Atlas;
- Perform reviews on SCOA compliancy per reporting entity and propose process improvements in order to optimize SCOA compliance
- Perform reviews on SCOA compliancy at BU level

- Develop and implement a SAP integrated closing procedure by:- Optimizing and standardizing the current closing scripts by adding the SAP transactions and other mandatory closing steps
- Implement standardized closing procedure within the BU
- Include SAP integrated closing procedure in training

- Implement interfacing improvements between the SAP system and HFM
- Implement WebFem changes
- Provide training to new and existing finance staff as needed
- People management skills: driving and engaging the participants in improvement activities
 
Functional Responsibilities/Network
- Interaction with other functions in the BU’s (sales/marketing/ISC/HR/IM/Purchasing)
- Interaction with the AN Accounting and Control organization.
- Interaction with the BU’s and  their reporting units.
- Interaction with SAP application/system managers.
- Interaction with the captive COE (Centre of Expertise) and FSSC (Financial Shared service centre)

Requirements for Job:
- Professional Accountancy/Financial reporting Qualification ( Master/Bachelors Degree) Experience in Finance (7-10 year)
- Team worker, flexible
- Organizational skills, planning workload, setting priorities to meet the deadlines.
- Knowledge & understanding of the AkzoNobel Financial Reporting process
- Familiar with SCOA, IFRS and WebFem
- Knowledge & understanding of SAP(FI/CO and interfaces with other modules SD/MM/PM)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint software
- Good communication(English)
