Responsibility

Battleground primarily produces metal alkyls, sold primarily as co-catalysts to major thermoplastic resins and rubber manufacturers (producers of polyethylene, polypropylene, and EPDM).  The product line is complex with over 30 metal alkyl products (plus formulations) produced at Battleground.  Products are extremely hazardous (pyrophoric, meaning they ignite on contact with air) and are highly reactive with water. The site also manufactures High Purity Metal Organics (HPMO) for the semi-conductor and LED industries.
 
To support Metal Alkyl production by providing instrumentation and electrical maintenance of all process instrumentation and electrical systems. The position provides the plant with expertise in the critical role of maintaining instrumentation and electrical for reliable, safe and efficient operation of chemical processes. Individuals must be self-motivated and work with little or no supervision.
 
- Perform maintenance, calibration and trouble shooting on all electrical and pneumatic control systems at the facility including control valves, actuated valves mass flow meters and various level indication devices. 
- Recommend and implement changes to I/E equipment to improve operability, reduce downtime and increase throughput.
- Help develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Maintains records on all I/E items including repairs, I/E specifications, one-line drawings, junction box drawings, loop sheet and P&ID’s.
- Interact with vendors to specify I/E items and make improvements.
- Conduct and maintain ISO-9000 and ISO 14000 quality systems records for plant calibration activities as outlined in the plant calibration procedures manual.
- Help develop projects to upgrade existing equipment and processes, and justify expenditures to the plant and group management. 
- Troubleshoot Delta V and DCS control systems.
- Other duties and assignments as directed by manager.
- Understand and help implement the site’s Operating Policy, and HSSE goals and objectives.
- Support and participate in on-going HSSE improvement activities and committees.
- Be fully aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts in area of
- responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
- Understand and implement any parts of the Battleground Environmental Compliance Plan and
- Waste Management Plan that apply to area of responsibility.
- Participate in the site’s on-going Pollution Prevention Process.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- AAS in instrumentation.
- Minimum five (5) years of I/E experience.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E and all electrical safe work practices.
- Must be knowledgeable in instrumentation and electrical loop drawing and schematics
- Experienced in SAP, Delta V control systems.
- Able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Good computer skills.
- If needed must be able to wear respirator.  Must be able to wear all applicable PPE.
