Purpose/Key Objectives
- Ensure and drive timely, adequate and reliable monthly financial closing process for one/two SMU(s)
- Ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting to SMU management and Corporate
- Assist SMU accounting manager with correct consolidation of monthly SMU financial numbers
- Monitor quality and content of the balance sheet and P&L from an accounting point of view of approx. 40 reporting entities in one region of BAPC
- Overall accountable for correct and timely financial reporting of the respective reporting entities to the BA
- Responsible for IFRS accounting expert role towards the reporting entities and ensure WEB FEM compliance
- Assist BA/SMU accounting manager with implementing new accounting and reporting guidelines or procedures in the reporting entities and SMU

- Monthly closing process
- Planning of month-end closing activities in consultation with Consolidation & Reporting employees
- Review of monthly reporting submitted (by local units) to ensure quality of reporting
- Ensure timely, adequate and reliable monthly financial closing process for one/two SMU(s) including management of all relevant central consolidation and elimination adjustments
- Provide feedback to local reporting entities on quality delivered during month-end closing process
- Accounting performance reporting units
- Pro-actively monitor the quality of the balance sheet and statement of income for the respective reporting entities.
- Work together with the local accounting department, local unit controllers, GBS, Infosys etc. to ensure a healthy financial position
- Develop and implement guidelines, in consultation with all SMU accounting managers and reporting and entity accounting specialists in the BA, which sets the minimum requirements for a qualitative balance sheet
- Drive one monthly closing procedure for the respective reporting entities
Set the accounting agenda (use accounting dashboard) for the respective reporting entities
- Follow-up on open accounting issues with the local reporting units and monitor on the correct and timely solution of these issues
- Manage service delivery and accounting performance by local reporting units/SSC/GBS; take the leading role in representing BAPC in user panels of SSC/GBS
- Work together with the respective local reporting units to ensure compliance with WEB FEM, local statutory and fiscal requirements
- Provide functional direction, training and support to local reporting units (including controlling staff)
- Perform visits to the local reporting units
- Focal Point for discussions with external auditors in the respective region
- Manage the annual MIAC to statutory process for the relevant reporting entities and ensure analysis of statutory-MIAC differences

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Education & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5 to 7 years of experiences in accounting and reporting, and capable of analyzing complex processes and issues under severe time pressure
- Preferably having working experience in one or multiple business units/ SMUs
- Adequate expertise knowledge in financial accounting (IFRS, accounting processes)
- SAP/ MFGPRO knowledge preferred, or at least not afraid to learn the basics of systems
- Drive continuous improvement agenda in the financial and transactional processes, and monthly closing and reporting processes
- Adequate communication skills
- Travelling in the region required (approx. 25% of the time)
