Responsibility

- Responsible for project scope definition, siting studies etc. to meet business/ manufacturing requirements.
- Responsible for execution of capital projects, starting from pre-project to construction and start-up.
- Lead and supervise engineering team to prepare FEED/FEL.
- Prepare budget or AR funding estimate.
- Prepare and monitor project schedule.
- Support BU’s in AR preparation and approval.
- Selection of engineering contractors for detail engineering.
- Organize and direct engineering projects.
- Ensure project is designed in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including AkzoNobel’s.
- Assures that all necessary permits are obtained.
- Project cost monitoring and control.
- Project Risk Assessment and Management.
- Report project progress to management.
- Selection and management of construction contractors and construction staff.
- Maintain safety at construction sites, following AkzoNobel policies.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- A bachelors or master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering
- 10-15 years related experience in engineering or manufacturing environment
- Extensive (project, people) management capabilities;
- Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through;
- Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation,         problem solving, content experience;
- Very good verbal and written English language skills
