AkzoNobel Wood Coatings –has an outstanding opportunity for a Procurement Analyst. The Procurement Analyst will be responsible for the effective analytical and reporting administration of the global procurement function by following established corporate and internal standard operating policies and procedures. Work involves detailed duties in purchasing, as well as finance. This position requires the use of independent judgment, initiative and the ability to analyze data and provide appropriate recommendations. The position will require strong analytical ability in developing detailed reports from raw data, preparing trend analysis, and data mining company expenditures to identify cost saving opportunities.
 
Specific Tasks:
- Must follow all established safety rules and procedures
- Must demonstrate integrity while performing duties as per company’s Code of Conduct
- Serve as the global analyst for the function. Prepare detailed analysis and reports; identify cost savings opportunities and areas the company can leverage its group buying power to obtain better terms; establish a best in class data retention and communication platform
- Maintain procurement and cost savings database to track various expenditures
- Prepare necessary documents in accordance with purchasing method, company/department policy, procedures, terms and legal compliance
- Regularly research and evaluate cost, quality, and suitability of product, supplies, equipment, service and support
- Regularly research and evaluate suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production capability as well as reputation and history
- Regularly research past and current market trends and develop predictive analytical models to better forecast prices
- Leverage current supply base and develops new sources of supply when required
- Identify and maintain sources and list of vendors for goods and services
- Maintain records of purchase information on both open market and contract purchases and revise as conditions changes
- Performs related work as required

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four year college or university
- Minimum of two (2) years working in a general procurement environment is preferred
- Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and effectively present appropriate information to a variety of audiences
- Math Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to raw and interpret bar graphs
- Reasoning Skills – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures and methods of analyzing supplies and materials
- Technical Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of office operations, workflow analysis, and current technologies in telecommunications, data entry and file management.
- Knowledge of a variety of office, technical, and maintenance supplies and materials, the best sources, and appropriate prices for the procurement of such goods
- Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; essential technical competencies in the use of computers and standard business applications; Microsoft products and office equipment; and ability to quickly master applicable databases, systems and vendor software programs
- Ability to travel upwards of 10% domestic and possibly international travel
