1. Strategy/Year Plan and Budget Spend Area
Develops sourcing strategies for own categories based on business/function/Country strategy, analyzes existing strategies and propose improvements in close cooperation with relevant BU/SMUs and/or functions/Country. Delivers input into global strategies
Within marketing and finance   strategies and category/NPR objectives
To contribute to the Strategy and planning of activities within NPR spend areas
Realistic and timely input within overall procurement   and business policy and goals
2. Spend Area Strategy and Budget
Formulate Category Strategy and Budget in line with assortment and marketing business requirements
Within requirements of Marketing/Finance,  within Strategy and with approval of BU Purchasing Manager and business function
To plan and give direction to activities within own Category with a minimum savings ambition
Realistic and timely plan within overall procurement policy and goals
3.  Alternatives for Procurement/ Market Know How
Actively ensure collection and analyzing of key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas for innovation, alternative suppliers and processes within the given region/categories. Strive for the highest level of expertise   within the category
In consultation with and support of relevant functions and within set parameters of goals of BU Purchasing Mgr / Global SAM
To provide solid market information for decision taking and competitive advantage

4. Requirements NPR
Formulates requirements and specifications for own category within Marketing and delivers input into the global categories
With input of the relevant Functions/ Business Units/Country management
To define specs covering overall AkzoNobel objectives and interests

5. Advising BU/SMUs /Functional Management
Provide regular price updates and deliberate with relevant stakeholders on strategies, priorities and issues. Advise budget holders and experts in the selection process of suppliers and products/services.

6. Business & Process Optimization
Initiate and guide implementation of synergy, cost savings, processes, innovation and risk reduction programs jointly with Business Units, country organizations and functions
Guide the implementation of cross country BU/SMUs /BA contracts with a clear project planning. Install (and supports) systems internally or externally to enable measurements of results (savings, baseline, compliance, KPI’s)

9.Vendors and Suppliers Relationship
