AkzoNobel’s Wood Coatings SMU (BU Performance Coatings) is investing in the development of a leading Business Intelligence team that supports the needs of the commercial, technical, and broader organizational needs for market, competitive, and business data, analysis and interpretation.
The person in this role will be part of our Commercial Excellence team and will have the opportunity to interact with our business teams around the world. This input and support will be used in the business planning and review cycles, strategy development and portfolio planning exercises.
- Drive the embedding of the “Commercial Excellence” (CE) capabilities to support organizational efficiency and effectiveness
- Continuously develop and support implementing the Commercial Excellence capabilities based on business requirements and new insights, e.g., Cost-to-Serve, Pricing Architecture, Product Management (portfolio profitability analysis), Margin Reporting, Channel Management, Segmentation
- Identify, report and discuss key issues and adapt action plans with the Commercial Excellence Manager
- Data gathering, validation and processing for analysis into easy-to-comprehend insights
- Transfer knowledge (training) and organize continuous improvement workshops in regions / countries

- Support the development and implementation of Commercial Excellence processes
- Implement, in line with the BA developments, Commercial Excellence processes (e.g. management meeting cycle) to ensure sustainable embedding in the SMU
- Support in “changing the culture” to increase operational efficiency

- Support projects to execute BA/SMU strategy
- Support SMU with accurate analyses and insights for better-informed decision making regarding complexity reduction (product portfolio, customer portfolio, value chain impact)
Monitoring and reporting progress

- Support the Commercial Excellence Manager in the implementation & delivery of commercial projects within the SMU
- Identify & communicate Commercial Excellence opportunities
- Cooperate with BA to introduce and implement newly developed capabilities (e.g. CRM)

Job requirements/Candidate profile

University Degree / Graduate in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or other related discipline 

- Strong analytical skills, proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and working with and understanding analytical tools
- Solid background in business analysis
- Project management experience
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary programs and teams, from start to implementation and delivering results
- 3+ years working experience in commercial environment
