The Technician is responsible for performing a variety of physical and instrumental evaluations to support the technical service requirements as needed by our customers.

Principal accountabilities/critical objectives and authorities

Routinely performs various types of physical testing in the laboratory for the on-going needs of technical service work related to customer projects. Work involves various strength testing, physical testing, and record keeping. Tasks must be performed with accuracy, thoroughness, promptness and consistency.

Interfaces with internal customers concerning test results.

As experience develops, interfacing with external customers will be necessary.

Job context

The Technician has experience in working in a laboratory setting.

Supports other team members while gaining hands on experience in additional laboratory tasks.

Has proficient knowledge of and insight into theory of relevant laboratory procedures for work area and be able to apply this knowledge in working with non-routine tasks.

Contributes to development of lab goals and other methods to continually improve lab processes.

The work environment requires sometimes moving objects or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Encouraged to participate in the BBS system and actively look for safety improvement opportunities.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Chemistry degree or science related field. Technical education and experience can substitute.

Strong math and computer skills.

Strong communications and writing skills.

Familiarity with cement based products a plus.
