1. Directs production and ensures cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, accuracy and performance standards.
2. Maintains plant property and equipment in good condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and to ensure effective and economical operations.
3. Prepares and submits operating reports to management to inform them of the current production status and to make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Develop Site CI strategy and implementation
- Work with site leadership team and BA CI experts in developing CI strategy and plan.
- Work with site CI leadership team and the CI experts in supporting implementation of CI strategy and plan, including establishing active CI project hoppers
- Ensure prioritization and alignment of CI activities that deliver risk reduction and bottom line business improvement
- Monitor CI progress by monitoring key CI metrics to track value contribution.
- Develop and implement Kaizen suggestion program for hourly employees, to motivate front end employees to submit kaizen suggestions and lead to evaluate those suggestions and organize resources to complete them.

5. Direct and coach the site employees to make prioritization (timing, resources, and sequence of actions) and implementation of improvement activities to best achieve the targets for the key performance indicators of the yearly plant improvement plan. Review the ALPS operating framework (goals & targets, KPIs, operating processes, people) to ensure compliance with corporate and BA requirements and highlight to the plant management team areas of concerns to agree corrective actions.

6. Lead/ support the local ALPS implementation and build-up of required capabilities and ensure ALPS full and successful implementation and practical application on a daily basis.

7. Network within the AkzoNobel CI community and share insights, problems and opportunities to promote improved performance and problem-solving across the company as well as encourage others to do the same

8. Manage multiple departments of the site in different maturity of CI journey and develop an understanding of strategic business needs in order to anticipate the requests for support and leverage learning between SMU and BA Advisors.

9. Deliver effective coaching and mentoring service to site leadership team and personnel, facilitate CI workshops and trainings as requested.

10. Set visual management standards and lead to implement throughout the whole site.

11. Develop 5S standards and lead to promote 5S in production, warehousing, office and utility areas with sustainable approach.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

1. 10+ years of relevant work experience (operations, production, maintenance, logistics, (process) engineering, continuous improvement, etc.)
2. Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TPM
3. Knows how to use the skills and knowledge of the team to design and implement solutions
4. Experience with practical implementation of change programs a plus
5. Extensive experience in coaching and engaging others; able to impart knowledge to others
6. Excellent communication, presentation and conflict resolution skills on all organizational levels; ability to gain respect and trust through situational leadership and integrity and inspire others to follow and participate in the change process
7. Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate (also statistical) analyses and synthesize recommendations
8. Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, JMP); able to prepare various formats of documentation associated with CI programs
9. Fluent in English, both verbal and written
