Key Objectives of the Job:
Contributes to the execution of sales - and profitability targets established by the SMU by implementing strategic go-to-market models and translating strategy into initiatives formulating Segment Marketing Plans delivering on SMU strategy by defining requirements for overall brand image and awareness.

Responsibilities:
- Formulates the Segment Marketing Plan and ensures its execution. 
- Translates SMU vision, policies, services package, training plans, market research and customer specifications to segment. 
- Acts as key interface to RD&I and color marketing for product development and product life cycle analysis. 
- As an owner of the global product portfolio ensures the implementation of the innovation process (incl. the project portfolio) for the segment. 
- Provides leadership and guidance in implementation and execution of segment strategy. 
- Works closely together with Regional Marketing Managers (and Regional Sales Manager Segment) to ensure translation of segment strategy into operational action planning. 
- Stimulates benchmarking and internal best practice sharing in the marketing community. 
- Gets in depth understanding of needs within segment through market research and implements needs based segmentation model. 
- Translates needs into clear value propositions and develops these propositions in close cooperation with SMU Marketing organization. 
- Maintains close contact with sales organizations to ensure market input is gathered (outside-in) and translated into fitting propositions. 
- Analyzes segment results, benchmarking results, market research and general market developments. 
- Provides input on pricing strategy guidelines on brands/ products to Commercial Excellence Manager. 
- Defines requirements for overall Brand image and awareness including communication materials and ensures successful delivery in cooperation with functional marketing departments.
- Develops Brand communication plan with the Marketing Specialist.
- Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal  conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Acts as an ambassador and encouraging talent processes and engagement.
- Ensures a job profile is in place, sets objectives for team members, reviews development and provides  clear, open and constructive feedback on performance combined with the appropriate actions.
- Strengthens the talent pipeline by developing talent and regularly assesses and discusses talent and  internal movement. Continuously monitors and evaluates retention risk.
- Stimulates, manages and follows through on employee engagement and builds on the workforce to reflect the societies and markets in which we do business (D&I).
- Creates an open environment in the team where all people can perform at their best and stimulates the development of others and ensures an engaged marketing team.
- Ensures reporting line is fully informed and acts in line with HSE and Compliance regulations.
- Manages and plans relevant (departmental) budget and proactively manages the costs.
- Reports on progress on a continuous base.
- Formulates the Segment Marketing Plan and ensures its execution.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in a project management or product development role.
- Excellent project management skills; successful managing large projects.
- Prior experience or exposure to product management lifecycle is preferred.
- Strategic thinker who takes pride in meeting expected results.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to foster relationships remotely.
- Prior experience managing or supervising staff members. 
- Experience or exposure in the automotive or coatings industry is a plus. 
- SAP experience is a plus but not required.
- Able to travel 35% of the time.
