Purpose Statement
To assist in financial reporting and analysis, monthly closing including account reconciliations, and budget and forecasting requirements


• To assist in financial reporting and analysis, monthly closing including account reconciliations and entries ensuring the site meets are monthly financial deadlines are requirements
• Assist in data analysis for tax reporting as needed
• Help safeguard AkzoNobel's assets through various reconciliation, reviews and cycle counts
• This position will serve as a “right-hand” to the Controller. The individual should be flexible, as the opportunity to work on “hot” projects will present itself, altering the daily routine
• The Cost Analyst/Staff Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to plant financial reporting with a specific emphasis on product costing and variance analysis.
• Accounts Analysis
• Calculate and maintain cost for direct materials, labor, and overhead on the bills of material and product item creation
• Analyze, account for, and report monthly cost variances for direct materials, direct labor, indirect labor and manufacturing overhead.
• Intercompany Receivable and Payable
• Monthly end journal entries – Payroll, Concur, SLOB reserve, DDP sales, storeroom, bad debt, commissions, sales samples, freight re-class, and others
• Reconcile Inventory reports to GL monthly
• Reconciliation of AP cash & full cash reconciliation with IHB
• Maintain Fixed Assets/Depreciation entry
• Gather and analyze financial data as needed for closing, budgeting, forecasting etc

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent

- 3-5 years of accounting experience; experience in manufacturing environment
Business and/or Functional Skills/ Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of PC applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Good communications skills
- Experience working within a mainframe integrated operating system
