Responsibility

The Demand Planner will be responsible for analyzing the sales forecast, interfacing with sales and business management to maintain an accurate forecast including forecast segmentation, and performing statistical analyses. This person will work closely with the Commercial team and Supply Chain to develop and execute a production and inventory plan based on the sales forecast.
 
Key Objectives and Responsibilities
- As part of a demand planning function, develop customer demand forecasts and reports at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons. 

- Build monthly customer and product forecasts incorporating Sales and Marketing information, concentrating on both the 1-3 months and 4 – 24 months periods.

- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, evaluate forecast results, and prepare reports. Present, solicit, and assess feedback on the various forecasts from Sales, and Finance.

- Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers. Review sales plans, aligning forecast with sales plans, financial targets, and customer demand drivers.

- Use and maintain the Demand Planning software – INFOR (and SAP), as the primary forecasting system tool.

- Support Supply Chain SAP (e.g. MRP) data integrity, particularly with Make-to-Order and Make-to-Stock Finished Goods.

- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts.

- Facilitates continuous improvement of the forecasting process towards service improvements, stock reduction and inventory health, and monitoring together with Supply Chain performance via agreed KPIs with reports and review processes for continuous improvement.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management or finance 
3-5 years of experience in demand analysis, forecasting, or planning, with seasoned understanding of service levels and stock and their drivers and methods to improve.
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Experience with ERP/MRP particularly SAP is required.
- Experience with INFOR or other software related to demand planning is preferred.
- Experienced with other software packages including Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred
- This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required.
