- As Technician II, the successful candidate will work on R&D projects related to the development of new chemistry for AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry.
- Safety is our highest priority and the successful candidate will learn, follow, and implement safe work procedures.
- The successful candidate will work closely with and under the supervision of experienced chemists and scientists. All work will be related to the creation, formulation, and testing of our product portfolio of surfactants and polymers. 
- The successful candidate will work on and rotate between multiple R&D projects. Willingness to learn and adapt new skill sets is a must. 
- As part of a dynamic R&D team, the ability to record, organize and analyse results in written and graphic form is critical. Notebooks and electronic record keeping skills are required.
- The successful candidate will be guided with established laboratory practices and methods and will recommend and implement improvements and new practices.
- The successful candidate will safely and knowledgably operate laboratory equipment and identify and correct issues as they arise.
- Prior knowledge and experience on surfactant, polymer, formulation, Design of Experiment and statistical analysis are a plus.

Job requirements/Candidate profile


- Associate’s Degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering (Chemistry preferred).
- One (1) to Five (5) years of chemical laboratory experience desired.
- Prior knowledge and experience on safe industrial laboratory practices formulations of surfactants and polymers, and statistical analysis are a plus.
- Learn, follow, and implement safe work procedures.
- Work on multiple R&D projects. Learn and adapt new skill sets.
- Obtain, formulate, and test surfactants and polymers in a variety of applications.
- Record, organize and analyse results in written and graphic form.
- Present data, observations, and conclusions to co-workers in clear and organized manner.
- Order necessary reagents and laboratory supplies.
- Neatly maintain laboratory and chemical inventory.
