Contributes to execution of sales-, expense- and profitability targets established by the SMU by managing the goals, objectives and milestones of the project(s) which have an impact on the Finance organization and/or acting as an functional expert in developing/improving finance related systems.

Specific Tasks
- Coordinate, support and enhance the implementation of various corporate and SMU finance programs, projects and initiatives at SMU level

- Represent SMU Finance in other harmonizing projects within the SMU

- Ensures all accounting, controlling and compliance aspects are covered within the projects.

- ”Owns” the process flow maps and captures changes on future state diagram

- Manages the (budget of the) project plans, the progress of tasks and deliverables throughout the project

- Conducts status meetings and distributes status reports to project sponsors and

- Responsible for on-time communication and cooperation with project sponsors and stakeholders

- Coordinate any major workshop/meetings involving multiple project participants

- Coordinates the decision making process on harmonizing financial business processes and master data

- Proactively contributes to the SMU Finance team and to the formulation of the SMU finance policies and priorities

- Provides proactive support and advice to the SMU Finance Director relating to Finance programs and processes

- Promotes the importance of harmonizing business processes and master data throughout SMU

- Develops and implements training programs to communicate and implement the changes

- Analyzes the existing good practices within the Finance field in the SMU as well as stimulates sharing of information / knowledge and teamwork among the subordinated Finance team.

- Evaluates (financial) change requests.

- Assists in developing and creating of (SAP/BW) procedures and work instructions.

- Supports the process of the customer classification and local product classification within the SMU.

- Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations

Main Management Responsibilities
- Acts as an ambassador and encouraging talent processes and engagement

- Ensures a job profile is in place, sets objectives for team members, reviews development and provides clear, open and constructive feedback on performance combined with the appropriate actions

- Strengthens the talent pipeline by developing talent and regularly assesses and discusses talent and internal movement

- Continuously monitors and evaluates retention risk.

- Stimulates, manages and follows through on employee engagement and builds on the workforce to reflect the societies and markets in which we do business (D&I).

- Creates an open environment in the team where all people can perform at their best and stimulates the development of others and ensures an engaged marketing team.

- Ensures reporting line is fully informed and acts in line with HSE and Compliance regulations.

- Manages and plans relevant (departmental) budget and proactively manages the costs.

- Reports on progress on a continuous base.

- Transitions the site accounting from Salem Oregon to High point North Carolina
Ensures key data points like supplier, receivable, fixed asset data are clean and reconciled
Master data management for North America, Wood Coatings
Analyse the profitability report for North America, Wood Coatings and update standards at periodical intervals
Project lead for outsourcing of accounting activities for North America, Wood Coatings
Be a core team member for SAP implementation
