Responsibility

The Pasadena site manufactures organic peroxides which are sold to major manufacturers of thermoplastic resins such as PVC, LDPE, polypropylene, EPS and acrylic resins. Organic Peroxide products are hazardous, mainly due to temperature controlled transportation and handling. The Pasadena site also manufactures thermoset and crosslinking peroxides, as well as toll produces optical monomers.

This Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the Pasadena logistics organization with the goal to meet customer needs safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise the loading of products in preparation for final shipment to customers.

• Supervise receipt of bulk raw materials and off-loading safely into storage tanks.

• Supervise sample program, ensuring customer samples are accurately filled and shipped to customers.

• Develop and train Shipping/Receiving operators to meet applicable guidelines including new operator qualification and re-qualifications.

• Insure equipment in area is properly maintained.

• Ensure product is stored in warehouses according to inventory management philosophy. Conduct cycle counts as needed. Update and maintain inventory in SAP.

• Communicate with customer service to evaluate and ensure customer needs are met.

• Monitor and correct warehouse housekeeping standards.

• Understand and help implement the Pasadena Functional Chemicals Site Operating Policy and Objectives which includes ISO/RC 14001.

• Be aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts in your area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.

• Understand and implement any parts of the Pasadena Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to your area of responsibility.

• Participate in the site’s on-going Pollution Prevention Process.

• Diked areas are to be inspected for integrity and any signs of spillage.

• Ensure that the solid and hazardous waste drums, rolloff bins, etc., are properly labeled and stored. Disposal of all hazardous waste drums are appropriately implemented.

• Contact the environmental department and complete an Environmental Upset Report for any excursion.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Minimum HS diploma, some college preferred.
• 4-6 years’ shipping experience in a plant environment; At least 2 years’ experience with an associate’s degree or above may substitute for some experience.
• Previous supervisory experience: Strong people management skills.
• Must have good working knowledge of ERP and inventory management; Experience with SAP strongly desired.
• Good Analytical skills.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to wear steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hard hat when going into the plants.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Must know shipping aspects such as inbound/ outbound, cross docking and temperature control materials.
