Responsibility

The Surface Chemistry manufacturing site in Morris, IL has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate, experienced professional to assume the role of Reliability Engineer - IE.   The Morris site primarily produces fatty amines which are used in many industries. Uses for the nitrogen derivatives include fabric softeners, oil field chemicals, asphalt emulsifiers, petroleum additives, mining, and others.
 
We are seeking a safety-minded professional with demonstrated skills and accomplishments in the reliability improvement and management of instrumentation and electrical equipment by managing and optimizing all predictive and preventive maintenance programs and procedures for the site’s instrumentation and electrical equipment.
 
The person in this role will implement, sustain and build the Instrumentation and Electrical Reliability Program at the Morris site by providing IPTM’s of the instrumentation and electrical equipment to minimize the risk associated with unexpected failures in a manner consistent with business needs.
S/he will contribute toward the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs keeping abreast of industry codes, practices, standards, and best practices.
 
Other key objectives and accountabilities include the following: 
 
- Execute analytical and troubleshooting skills to address instrumentation system issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis to improve system reliability. 
- Resource to operations, maintenance and engineering for such items as: - implementing the latest maintenance technologies for equipment servicing and performance tracking; 
- design for operation, maintainability, and ergonomics; 
- serve as a subject matter expert for instrumentation and electrical standards and practices; 
- consult in the development of projects for improvements and expansions and support equipment troubleshooting and repairs.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Reliability.
- Familiarity with NEC, ISA, IEEE, NFPA, and other industrial/regulatory electrical/instrument codes and standards.
- Familiarity with controls and instruments hardware and systems used in chemical industry applications such as: control valves, flow elements, temperature and pressure related equipment, level monitoring equipment, analyzers, logic systems and process historians, high voltage electrical systems.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with operations, engineering, technical, mechanical/electrical maintenance technicians.
- Experience in the chemical industry desired.
- Knowledge/experience using Six Sigma tools and methods preferred.
- Knowledge of PSM Regulations preferred.
- SAP experience a plus.
