AkzoNobel Wood Coatings –has an outstanding opportunity for a Customer Service Representative. A Customer Service Representative is an extension of the Sales Department and plays a vital role in communication with our internal and external customers. Each representative is responsible for specific customers and Sales Representatives. This involves daily research and coordination of information in response to inquiries from internal and external customers in addition to entering customer order, claim information, tracking short pays and dealing hands-on with Sales.
Specific Tasks:
- Must follow all established safety rules and procedures
- Must demonstrate integrity while performing duties as per company’s Code of Conduct
- Communicates with internal and external customers involving coordination with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Shipping and Sales
- Order entry
- Researches and files claims for damaged freight with carrier
- Email order and shipment confirmations to Customers and Sales
- Tracks outbound shipments and relays information to Customer/Sales
- Maintains Customer contact information
- Researches customer short pays collecting facts to determine if credit is necessary
- Enters price increases
- Generates reports as requested
- Maintains container defaults on all customers
- Ensures PO pricing is correct – if not requests revised PO
- Switchboard backup
- Provides Accounting with customer information for Customer Master
- Notify Accounting on ZCOST formula issues
- Maintains hold file
- Initiate freight claims
- Other duties as deemed necessary by department business conditions

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred
- At least 2 years Customer Service experience within a manufacturing environment using SAP preferred
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to use calculator, telephone, typewriter/keyboard and various office machines on a daily basis
- Must be able to communicate both in person and on the telephone, enter information on the computer and read various instructions given to them
- Ability to multi-task and balance priorities
- Must have knowledge of basic computer skills and have the ability to use
- Excel, Word, SAP a plus and able to adapt to software applications
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
