AkzoNobel has an outstanding opportunity for an Account Manager! This position will support our Metal Coatings (Coil) division. 

This is a remote position with the ideal candidate being based out of Columbus, OH or any major city in the the Northern Region of the U.S.

Responsibilities
• Primary responsibility will be to service current customers and grow our share of the pre-paint market calling on Coil Coater’s, Steel Service Centers, Pre-Engineered Building Manufacturers, and other OEM’s.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the coil industry.

• Minimum 3+ years sales experience in the metal coatings, coil or coatings industry.

• A working knowledge of the coil coating process including metal substrates, metal cleaning, preparation and application of coil coating products is required. Knowledge of the building product fabrication process is also preferred.

• Must be self-motivated, self-starting, and disciplined with experience managing their own business, schedules, and commitments. The ability to set-up weekly / monthly itineraries and make high level cold calls is required.

• Must be able to effectively engage with customers on multiple levels within an organization and possess excellent communications skills.

• Must be able to work well with lab personnel, customer service, and supply chain to ensure a positive customer experience.

• Strong communications skills; oral/written, presentations, public speaking and one to one negotiations.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, driven, self-starter with strong influencing skills.


• Personal and professional integrity are highly valued and expected.

• Must be willing to travel with overnight stays as a routine throughout the week; up to 70% travel.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and be able to give effective sales presentations.

• Passionate about AkzoNobel’s products and committed to bringing exceptional service to our customers.

• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
