AkzoNobel Performance Coatings has an outstanding opportunity for a Sales Representative in our Commercial Vehicles division. The Sales Representative serves Akzo Nobel Coatings Customers by assisting them reach higher levels of profitability through the effective application of Akzo Nobel solutions. They will grow volume in the territory (geographically) through long-term relationships. The position will be responsible for maintaining existing customers and developing new sales through market analysis, relationship development, and pipeline management.

This is a remote position and can be located out of any major city in Kansas, Michigan, Georgia or California.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage and retain a portfolio of existing customers in the Commercial Vehicle Custom Builder segment.
- Screen markets for new opportunities, generate leads, understand competitor positions, and maintain sales pipeline.
- Identify, plan and develop new customers in line with business growth strategies.
- Provide appropriate and agreed levels of contact, service and support to ensure existing customers are retained.
- Plan travel schedules to maximize productive time in market (customer visits, prospect development activities).
- Manage sales support activities for assigned customers.
- Plan, execute, and report on sales activities utilizing the AkzoNobel tools/programs.
- Promote a positive company image by embracing the AkzoNobel values.
- Coordinate with Commercial Vehicle team in the implementation of approved service solutions.
- Proactively informs the upper management about the required sales support level (including marketing, technical, logistics, and control) and cooperates in and coordinates the implementation of the defined activity.
- Systematically up-dates CRM with valid, accurate and complete customer/prospect-related information.
- Monitors and reports on the status of formal customer complaints.
- Delivers periodical progress reports and proactively submits recommendations regarding the improvements in the approach to the marketplace.
- Become familiar with all applicable corporate procedures with regard to personal conduct/ HSE standards and acts in compliance with all regulations.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of technical/sales experience in Commercial Vehicles coatings.
- Able to travel 50-75% of the time.
- Experience in coatings application, process development, and auditing is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to build and maintain positive internal / external customer relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
