Having gained a relevant science degree or a coatings industry professional qualification as well as experience of working in a coatings laboratory you are now looking for a new challenge - a career development opportunity in a company that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That is exactly the CV enhancing opening we can offer you at AkzoNobel. We’re now looking for a Technologist to join our Fire & Insulation Coatings R&D team to work on product development activities.
As a Technologist you will ensure business growth targets are achieved by planning and managing key work programmes. This will involve designing and carrying out experiments, evaluating and interpreting results as well as reporting findings and making recommendations to stakeholders. This will include testing and evaluating of existing and new technology platforms, helping shape test method development/refinement to support prototype formulation screening and optimisation and supporting application field trials. You will also participate in factory scale up trials and liaise with Operational departments to ensure the smooth transition of new formulations into manufacturing facilities.
As you would expect, the standard of experimental work and technological development is high, so you must have a degree in a relevant discipline such as Chemistry, or a coatings industry qualification. This must be backed by extensive experience of working in a coatings laboratory. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work to high standards and safely. Comfortable working in a project team as well as independently too you are an effective communicator who is able to manage a broad range of tasks. You must also be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments.
