Our Industrial Placement Programme
Involved from day one, you’ll work closely with a range of internal Business functions and use a variety of experimental techniques to support R&D projects for our global business units such as Decorative Paints, Marine and Protective Coatings and Surface Chemistry. You could be working on the type of projects that have already ensured Dulux Matt and Silk paints have their best sustainability credentials ever – zero added solvent, low odour and reduced embodied CO2. Depending on the team you join, you could be working on colloid science projects with a focus on technical problem solving, developing new polymers to bind to the many substrates we coat, or preparing and testing experimental wall paints to support our paint businesses in Europe and around the world. You could be providing engineering innovation and support to our High Throughput Experimentation robotics systems, or providing data analysis support through novel uses of software.
Whichever team you join, you will work alongside technical experts on projects that broaden your experience, give you the opportunity to work as part of a research team and enhance and develop your analytical and team working skills. You will also gain greater understanding of subjects like colloid science, polymerisation chemistry and formulation science.
