Your background in procurement means you have developed excellent sourcing and supplier management skills. Now you are looking for an opportunity to use your contract negotiation skills to the full in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. Look no further than AkzoNobel. Home to world class products we’re now looking for a Buyer to manage tendering processes, reduce costs and deliver best value for the business.
As a Buyer within AkzoNobel you will ensure corporate guidelines and procedures are followed during contract tendering processes. You will take responsibility for local negotiations, implementing of revised Terms and Conditions and monitoring adherence to policies/standard ways of working. You will act as the first contact point for supply service issues and oversee the escalation process as needed. You will also monitor quality, performance and host regular review meetings with internal and external stakeholders, determining contract deviations and take action as appropriate. Important too will be the ability to identify alternative sources of supply for key spend areas.
Skilled at sourcing suppliers you will have solid experience in a procurement role. A CIPS qualification would be an advantage too. You must be commercially astute, quick to understand business needs and good at understanding purchasing processes. You are effective at managing supplier relationships and are highly analytical too.  You will also possess strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills. Critically you will be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivers on commitments.
